St Edward Integrated School

The school named after St. Edward the Confessor, known to be pious and unworldly, was the only king of England who became a saint. Choosing a saint of English lineage is in keeping with the Britannia or English countryside theme of Lancaster New City.

Founder of SEIS and PRO-FRIENDS chairman, Mr. Guillermo Choa shared that one of the reasons for the establishment of the school is the effort to make Lancaster New City into a township, a master planned community where almost everything is within reach of residents.  The school is under consultancy with the Lasallian Schools Supervisory Office (LASSO), ably represented by Sister Teresita Octavio, Ms. Ophelia Fugoso, executive director of LASSO and superintendent for Mindanao (also referred to as “Bro. Ophel,” being an affiliate of the La Salle brothers), and Dr. Herminia Torres, former executive director of LASSO and DLSU-Dasmariñas.

The school’s board of trustees, namely, Mr. Guillermo Choa, Ms. Carina Choa, Mr. Crisanto Hilario and Dr. Herminia Torres unveiled the school’s emblem and its vision and mission statements. The school’s emblem is green to stand for the PRO-FRIENDS’ corporate color. The star with six points at the center signifies celestial goodness and nobility. This represents St. Edward’s high standards of discipline and morality. The crest signifies honor & readiness of the school to serve the public.  The crown on top of the crest is actually St. Edward’s crown which represents his prominent example in the development of the students in the community. The 2 fronds of laurel signify the quest for quality, Christian education.  The year of its foundation is represented by 2011.

St. Edward Integrated School’s vision is to be a learning institution, Catholic in character, that transforms lives by nurturing minds to realize their dreams and potentials to become persons of integrity imbued with Christian values in the service of the society.

Its mission states that as a humble tribute to God, following the ideals of St. Edward the Confessor, the school promotes quality, human and Christian education to the young and the disadvantaged by providing them with a healthy learning environment, in partnership with the academic community.

Dr.Yolanda Carpina of the Department of Education said in her speech that she particularly liked the part of the school’s mission statement that mentions the disadvantaged.   She is looking forward to the youth this school will soon be helping and molding to be more responsible citizens.  Dr. Carpina likewise shared that it is such a welcome blessing to have an affordable Lasallian-supervised school in Imus, Cavite.

Father Paul de Leon officiated the ceremonial blessing, which was coupled with the traditional coin-throwing for good fortune.

A time capsule-laying ceremony included the signing of the blueprint and was participated in by SEIS board of trustees, LASSO representatives and sisters from the Hermanas de Guadalupanas, Mr. Alex Advincula of Ahnex Builders and PRO-FRIENDS executives led by president, Ms. Jocelyn Guzman. This was documented by editorial representatives from the Philippine Daily Inquirer, Philippine Star, Business Mirror, Manila Standard and the Manila Bulletin.

Mr. Hans Tan, architectural consultant for PRO-FRIENDS, expounded on the 5 perspective design plans that show the look and shape of things to come for St. Edward Integrated School. The panels showed designs for the entrance, façade, the lobby, the future library and an aerial perspective of the sports arena.

PRO-FRIENDS business partners represented by the top division managers and broker groups also graced the affair which is a significant milestone in the history of PRO-FRIENDS and Lancaster New City.
